FAQs

Frequently Ask Questions

How do I know what height I need my carport to be?

We recommend that you measure the peak height of whatever it is that you plan on storing in your carport. What you are storing will affect what height you will need your carport to be. We also suggest adding an extra foot or two so you have some wiggle room.

Can I change my order?

We will make every effort to make any changes you request to your order if we are notified of these requests in a timely manner. We want to ensure you have a positive experience with us here! Please note that additional costs may be incurred.

How do I update my customer information?

If you would like to change your customer information, give us a call at 352-351-0506 and we’d be happy to update you in our system!

What do I need to do to my site to make it ready for the day of the install?

As part of the contract you signed, you will need to ensure that you have any and all required permitting approved by your local and state ordinances. We highly suggest that your land be as level as possible and clear of any obstructions that might delay the delivery or installation of your building. We do not provide permits or foundations for our buildings, but would be happy to give you appropriate contacts. If you are local to Ocala and would to schedule a site check, give us a call!

Can I make changes to the building if I am leasing or financing it?

While you are in the process of making payments toward your building, you should not make any changes or additions, or alter the structure in any way. We do not recommend this, as it is a breach of your contract. When you have fully paid your building off, however, feel free to make any additions you see fit –it’s yours!

If I want to build the metal structure myself, do you have carport kits?

Sure! Carolina Carports, Inc. offers the option for you to have your carport materials delivered for self-installation made easy! Let us know when you place your order and we’ll be sure to get you set up.

Do I need to get a building permit? When should I get a permit?

In most cases, the answer is yes; unless your building is under a certain size, you will require a permit before your building can be installed or placed on your property. You will need to contact your local and state permitting offices, or building safety director, for more information regarding your specific situation. We do not provide the permits, but we can help get you any building plans that your local ordinances might require!

What are the possible anchoring choices for my carport?

Carolina Carports, Inc. uses both re-bar anchors and mobile home anchors to secure your building to its foundation. All of their buildings are Florida certified to resist our hurricane-strength winds.

What is the standard time period for building a carport after an order has been placed?

Lead times are estimates, not guarantees, and are often changing due to the current market, availability of materials and installers, and other factors. We recommend utilizing your down time in between placing and receiving your order to ensure your land is free and clear of any obstructions and that your foundation, if you choose to have one, is secure.

How secure is my personal information?

Your personal details are highly secure. Starfield SSL is used by Elephant Systems to secure data when it is transmitted over the internet. We will never store the details on your credit card. All payments by credit card are passed on to our merchant processor.

Can I lock in my price?

We can offer our customers a price lock for a 3-day period, unless specified otherwise, on most of our products. Give us a call for more information!
